What is Alertron?
Alertron is a website monitoring service that monitors web devices for downtime by sending
out HTTP, PING or HTTPS requests to clients' websites at regular intervals of
time and sends out alerts if the device is down.
Is there an initial setup fee to open an account with you guys?
No, there is no setup fee. In fact you can get 30-day free trial at no cost.
Do I have to download and install any software in order to use your service?
No, Alertron does not require you to install any software to your server or website.
All you have to do is sign up and add device to start monitoring.
What is the billing cycle and when do I get billed?
You will be billed once a month. Our billing cycle starts from the first day and ends at the last day of each month.
Can I cancel my account?
Yes, you can cancel your account at anytime as you like. You can do so at your Account Page.
Is there a cancellation fee for canceling the account?
No, there is no cancellation fee for canceling your account; however, you are responsible
to pay service fee prior to account cancellation and all service fees that are past due if any.
If I cancel my account in the middle of the month, will I be charged me for the whole month?
No. If you cancel your account in the middle of the month, you are required to pay for only the days
that you used our service. Your service fee for that month will be calculated as follow, Total Monthly
Service Fee divided by Number of Days in the month times Number of Days of Service.
What happens if my website goes down?
Once the problem is detected, we send you an alert message by a default alert type in which you chosen.
We continue to check your website availability and response times at predefined intervals in your service plan settings.
When your web site is back up again, you will receive another notification that it is functioning normally again.
Under what scenario is the website consider unavailable?
A website is reported as unavailable in any of the following: website is not accessible,
and HTTP Response code of the response is 4XX or 5XX.
Is it possible that I might get some false alert?
We are very rarely to send out false alerts. We have monitoring servers located in all over the globe,
if they report you site is unavailable, it is very certain that
it is because it is very unlike that all of our servers go down at the same time..
Can I monitor more than one Website with Alertron?
Of course with Alertron, you can monitor as many websites as you like.
Does your monitoring service affect the performance of my site?
Absolutely not, our robots would visit your website the same way as a human visitor do, so there is no performance drag for be monitored.
What is the purpose of multiple geographic monitoring servers?
This is to ensure that the problem detected a legitimate one. For example if one of our
monitoring servers detects a problem with your website, it triggers one of the other monitoring stations to
confirm that it is detecting the same problem. The multiple confirmation of a problem helps to reduce false alerts.
How often does Alertron check my site?
We have monitoring service in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. You may refer to the pricing page for detail.
Do you offer Secure Socket Layer monitoring?
Of course we offer Secure Socket Layer connections monitoring. This will enable
you to monitor any https sites for performance, response time and downtime.
Do you offer web page content monitoring?
Yes, we do offer content checks and any page of your website. If the content of the
page is changed or site is not available, alert will be sent.
Can I suspend monitoring for maintenance purpose?
Yes, you can inactivate service at the Service Page in your account.
How do I know if my website up and running again?
Once your website is up and running again, we will send you another alert to notify you that the site is running again.
What platforms do you guys support?
There is no platform limitation for using our services. Your website or the
server can be in any of the platforms on the market such as Windows, Apache, Linux, UNIX, and MAC.
Does monitoring service add any burden or cause traffic jam to my website?
Absolutely not, the monitoring robots send out extremely small packet to your monitoring device(s), so this will not
affect the traffic of your web site. This is just like a regular user visiting your website.
I don't have SMS with my office phone can I receive a voice call to my land line?
Yes, we can send out a voice call to any phone number that is in service including cell phone or land line.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my account?
Yes, you can make changes to the monitoring device at the Service Page.
You can edit monitoring time intervals, monitoring types, alert types, and name of the device.
